More secure (though this is debatable).
More standards-conforming (this is not debatable).
Faster (if you tweak it a bit in about:config).
More extensible (through extensions framework; personally, i have a tabbed-browsing manager, a WebMailCompose for mailto links, and a gmail monitor, as well as Open in Internet Explorer extensions currently installed).
Good popup blocker.
Integrated with google in the search and
address bars (I can type in a google search in the address bar and it takes me to the first hit).
Able to add additional search engines to the search bar, from Yahoo to Ask Jeeves to BitTorrent torrent engines.
Those are the main reasons.
