Hd Rpm?

I am seriously looking at the Sentia (although there seems to be quite a few nay-sayers on the web) and was wonderring if I would really notice the difference in speed between the 5400 RPM and the 7200 RPM hard drives.

That 100G drive would be great, but I can live with 60G if the speed is going to be much improved.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

The speed of the hard drive does not affect the performance of games or most applications themselves, it just makes things load faster.

Having a faster hard drive is useful if the applications that you are using depend heavily on the hard drive's speed, for example video editing or opening large files. Otherwise you should be fine with whatever hard drive speed you choose.

And even if you do go with the 60GB, you can always get an external hd. Currently, you could get a 160GB 7200rpm for $120. It's only $10 more if you opt for firewire instead of USB.

Thanks for the responses. I'll go with the 7200 RPM.
