Hey, On my laptop everytime I turn it on it sats checking file system on C: One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. Then it goes untill 100%. Why is this happening? Thanks.

Sounds like you are just hitting the power button without shutting down Windows.

I do hit the power button but I do that because I have it set up to ASK ME. And then I hit shut down. Is that bad?

If it asks you if you want to shut down, and then you click yes/shutdown, that should be fine. Maybe something is going wrong during shutdown? It could also be the signs of a faulty hard disk, but unlikely.

I just bought the laptop. How could a drive already be about to die? Does this mean that I'm going to lose all of my files?
