Are there any fuses between the power supply and the HDDs? It sounds like the machine is working except for the HDDs. Obviously, if they don't work, nothing else happens either.

Do you get any kind of life on the screen, does the backlight come on?

There has to be power for the DJ to work. And you said the fans were coming on. If the backlight is coming on, that would indicate power there.

If that's the case, then its likely its just a failure in the power supply to the HDDs. That's not a big deal, but in any case, this would definitely seem to be a warranty item.

And for your folks, you should have them check out the forums here. SAGERs really are great machines that don't usually have many problems. I realize its hard to believe that from where you are standing and perhaps more so from where they are standing. I've had six of them and only two have died unnatural deaths, after much abuse and overwork. One was from insects getting into the power control and shorting it out, the other was likely caused by corrosion as I live on or near the beach in Hawaii and it was regularly exposed to excessive humidity and lots of salt air.

I wish I knew what to tell you. I am assuming you haven't cracked the case open because of that sticker on one of the screws. Are you sure that screw holds the case together?

Have you been able to check all the cables to the HDDs to make sure they are properly seated. Since neither of the HDDs are spinning up its likely if its a power supply problem that its deeper than the connectors, though that would be the best deal for you. It may be something where power is not getting to the HDD controller. Hard to say without being able to look inside.

This is really a drag. I feel for you.

I have ALL of my notes from AP Physics, Bio, and Calc on my laptop. Thank god I backed it all up, but I have no ready access to it now... And no, I don't want to print it out because that would take Already about half a ream of paper... Man, looks like I'll have to wait for sager on this one...

I already emailed sager about it this afternoon, and I hope Sager will cover the cost of shipping this time, I mean, it's broken less than 3 days after recieving from them!
I understand it sucks but your parent really need to understand it doesn't matter what brand of computer you pick, there's ALWAYS a chance of problems and there's ALWAYS someone who had a bad experience with it regardless of who made it. It's unfortunate, but you will be taken care of. Assuming Sager is a POS isn't looking at the whole picture such as they will take care of your problem and there are thousands we've sold that never had problems. You won't be on hold for 2 hours and wait 4 weeks for replacement... they WILL take care of the problem.

I know, I know, I definitely do not think that Sager is bad... I've had a recent string of bad luck, so it's most likely attributed to that... My parents wanted me to get a compaq laptop from the nearby Staples, and I said no ways, and they were not all that pleased with my purchase from the beginning. So when problems showed up, they just got angrier... Go figure.

Well, Sager has emailed me already, but with the standard "reset your cmos" procedure. I hope this is some simple problem that can be fixed with securing a wire... I REALLY don't want to send it back (neither do I have the resources for it anymore: my parents paid for shipping last time, this time I'm on my own...)
