What does Nero. 6 have that Nero v. 5 doesn't have? Is it worth buying Nero v.6 Ultra edition if I have nero v.5 on my 5670?

If I buy Nero V.6 Ultra edition will this allow me to burn .sio, .bin and .cue image files so I don't need Alcohol 120%? What do you guys recommend for your CDR/RW and DVD ROM burning needs?

Anyone use the "Alcohol120%" program. I have it but I thought I didn't need it to burn inmage files since I have Nero v.5 on my Sager 5670....However I can only burn .cue or .iso image files and I need to burn this .bin file.

Why not just read Ahead's WHAT'S NEW page? I think it's mostly cosmetic, with a few new drives supported (mainly DVD-R/+R stuff). Plus some bloat that maybe 5% of the people will actually use.

If version 5 is doing all you need, stick with it (assuming we're talking about PAYING for versions and upgrades).

EDIT: here's Burning ROM's "What's New" info:

What is new?

Nero Burning ROM 6 offers you a big variety of new features:

* The new design makes the program interface even clearer and more easier to use
* New, modern icons have been added
* The integration of the "burn" window within the Nero interface makes it possible for you to continue working in Nero while the burning process is going on and it also allows simultaneous burning on a number of recorders
* Data can be moved more quickly into the compilation window by drag & drop
* Support for miniDVD
* Support for extra-long Joliet file names of up to 109 characters
* Integration of intelligent drive-locking: as a result, Nero and InCD 4 both know which drives can be used
* Support for disks that have been formatted with InCD (support to copy formatted discs)
* Higher quality and faster MPEG-1/2 encoders
* HE-AAC – highly improved codec
* DVD-Video plug-in included
* CD+G copying now possible (if supported by the source drive)
* Support for multiple recording with four recorders at the same time

yeah I was hoping Nero v.6 would allow me to burn .bin image files. Nero v.5 only lets me burn .iso image files. Then I bought alcohol 120% and I could now burn .iso and .cue files but it doesn't support ".bin files"

So what do people use to brun .bin files? How do you do this I've been reading on google but all they offer is other software programs, and little info on how to copy .bin image files on to a CD-r.

I use NERO if I ever come across a .bin file - usually that's the "meat" of the "cue" file. The CUE file is only a text file list-like thing that points to the BIN and tells nero (or whatever) HOW/WHAT TYPE of CD it is. Really primitive (I like ISO better).

Google around for how CUE/BIN works together and you'll be burning the BIN in no time.

Yeh, Myrkat is right, wherever there is a .bin file there should also be a .cue file. Definitely is a stupid design but thats the way it is.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction guys. So when I use Nero and select burn "disc image or saved project" I just add or open the .cue file and the .bin file will automatically follow the .cue file without me having to select the .bin file. I'll give it a go.
