This is the laptop I've been hoping for (if it gets the option of an Nvidia gpu that is)

That's insane, but I agree w/the Porsche man, December sounds right.

sniffle . . . sniffle ah well, not that big of a deal, the 670 with 6800 Ultra will be more than fast enough for all of todays games I am sure! Maybe I can at least get the 100G 7200rpm drives in it instead of the 80 SATA's I ordered!

the way that ati and nvidia are duking it out in the pcie area...i wouldnt doubt that this new model will be available with a g70 by christmas.

Hopefully, youll get your wishes granted by corporate suits pushing r&d to finalize and push out hardware
couple this with a 64 bit os:longhorn in may 2006 and you got a killer machine that could easily hit 8-9k on 3dmark05

Id love atleast an 3800+. Do you think that you could configure it with less of a card such as an x700 or 6800 go or something like that?

This sounds like its exactly what I'm looking for. Don't want to deal with any of these high temp heat issues. The AMD sounds like a more solid Final product. Looks like I'm gonna make it my christmas present.

synergism, just a question, why did you order both a 9880 and a xps2
post #28 of 140
Couldn't decide so I just got both. I'll compare them side by side. I'm getting the XPS2 tommorow, don't know when the sager is coming in: I'm in California. Probably will opt for the AMD once it comes out if the 9880 has all these issues everyone's talking about.

Off topic, synergism you should get an Rx8 instead of that S2000

You would do us all a great favor if you could run as many benchmarks on the two systems and post the results here or the general notebook section.

Synergism, when you find out which system you like the best you should give me the other one

Its probably going to be another 3 months before I buy a new lappy so hopefully it comes out by then. If anything just to push down prices on the lesser models.

I just got all my three systems today. I gotta say, it was pretty overwhelming. The sager is a monster. And for everyone that said it had a "brick" for power supply, this thing is seriously a BRICK. I mean, its seriously the size of a brick! lol.

I'll do some standard benching on both of these side by side. So far so good. No dead pixels on all three of them. Screen is much better on the Sager with minor leakage on the xps2, a hint on the sager. The 2200 has zero leakage. I can't even hear the Sager, what are you guys talking about? I better check the fans..

bad pic.. but you can actually see the leakage. More exagerated in the picture because of the angle and lighting.

This actually helps prevent it from climbing up in temp so fast rather than being flat.

on to the benching..

Sorry, but that already Is my s2000. The faaaaarthest one to the right. Oh here!

It's too bad thought because it is now SOLD! to buy my Sager lol, j/k I also sold the Type R (Yellow). I just won't be needing it in the gulf. I'm just happy for NO MORE MONTHLY PAYMENT.

Synergism, What irs the brand of the clear plastic stand in your pic?? I think I saw that once before somewhere, is it just a horseshoe shape ring directly under the pc?? Thanks

In my opinion August as release date for the D900K sounds realistic. But there will rarely be versions with dual core (they are nearly sold out at the moment - Inquirer information). The price for a single core D900K will be a little bit lower or equal in comparison to the D900T. The dual core versions will be more expensive (around 500$ more).

However for gaming the FX still rules the roost, and with the 939 chipset you can always just plop in a dualcore, unlike Intel's chipset, for more futureproofing which is what is selling me on waiting!
