Hey DWStrickland I see you have an MX6 I just wondering how you like that system. I looked around to see if it had any write-ups but I could not find any. If you have a chance let me know how you like or dislike the MX6. Mine should be here anyday now......God I hate waiting.

Hey. There were a couple of other people who posted that they were about to receive a MX6 so they might be able to assist you as well.

So far, so good with my machine. The only slight negative I have noticed is that they top center of the keyboard is a little "spongy," but it is not noticed too much since it would require pressing very hard while typing. The display is excellent with great contrast ratio. I really do not like the ambient light sensor, so I disabled it. I prefer max brightness while on AC and on battery to be honest. I found this feature very annoying since it would change the brightness constantly up and down without any change in the light source. However, others like it in the Asus forums so it is a matter of personal preference I guess.

Of course, the highlight is the Fire Mist Pearl paint job I have on mine, and it looks fabulous. I first thought I would be annoyed by the fact that HyperSonic does not paint the side and bottom of this series. However, you do not really notice it unless you look for it. I know they claimed this was done to offer an economy range pricing for the paint on this series. Of course, after having my Aviator EX7 in the Python Special Edition, I am kind of spoiled and the sides and bottom being painted really do give that extra "look at me" appeal.

Overall, everything else seems normal and fine performance wise. You do pay more than buying a standard Asus Z71V, but you do get the awesome paint job option which clearly separates it from all other machines. Also, HyperSonic has a great support team and options. In fact, on the MX6 the warranty itself is much cheaper now than the other systems and is a real deal for 3 years.

There isnt too many pics around that show off these systems. The ones Ive seen look great, its gonna be nice to watch a photo gallery grow here at NBF. is DWStrickland's avatar a hypersonic? also, Black Sapphire Metallic. was looking for that. must look Nice!

Yeah. That is the one from his sig. The paint job is a special python version. Very awesome looking and because of the amount of detail put into it, it is more expensive as well. I was looking at that same style, but in red. But that is for his EX7. I don't think I have seen pictures of his MX6.

I keep doing searches in case someone posted something under a different title, but nothing yet. Maybe I can get something from Hypersonic.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I do have 2 standard stock pictures that were taken of the Python Special Edition directly from HyperSonic (or most likely Smooth Creations, the paint facility). I simply used one of them in reduced form for my avatar.

I have not posted pics of my Aviator MX6. However, the reason for this is that I currently still have not taken the time to purchase a nice digital camera. However, this should be changing soon, and I will then post pictures. I found a newly released Sony camera (Cyber-shot® DSC-H1), that I have been waiting to be released for over 2 months, that has a 12x optical zoom and 5 megapixel that should fit my needs perfectly.

Nah... just turn your EX7 towards your MX6 and take pictures that way... What? That isn't good enough?

LOL. I never thought about that
