Dell Inspiron 6000 vs Acer Ferrari 4000

Debating between two laptops, as mentioned in the title of the thread. Going to be using in college, so mobility is important, as is battery life. Will be playing some games, watching movies, etc. Also want this to last a few years, so if 64 bit processor is major, than that could be a factor. However, I dont want to pay a lot for the Ferrari for it not to matter. Dell is certainly cheaper, but I love Ferrari look. Any comments would be really appreciated.

Dell Inspiron 6000 (w/ 34% off) $1768 + $250 for ram upgrade
-Pent M 2.0 GHZ 760 (2mb cache), Microsoft XP PRO, WUXGA ultrasharp 15.4, 2 GB Ram (upgrading via crucial.com), ATI x300 128 mb graphics card, 60 gb 7200 rpm HD, bluetooth 2915 Intel pro w/ bluetooth, 8x dvd burner, 2 year warranty with accidental care (which will be doubled via creditcard), 9 cell + 6 cell battery

Acer Ferrari 4000 ~$2200 pending availability
-(all approximate) 1.8 ghz Mobile AMD turion 64 (1mb cache), XP Pro, 1 gb ram (havent checked out upgrade prices), 100 gb 5400 rpm HD, ATI radeon x700 graphics 128 mb, 5 in 1 reader, 15.4 wsxga+, integrated super multi drive

basically paying more for a worse computer, but maybe will be better in future? the ferrari look is worth a lot to me, but if Dell is signicantly better its not. any thoughts, im sure many are debating same stuff.

For games the Acer no question

That Ferrari not only looks better, but is significantly more powerful than the Dell is in the graphics department. The x700 is actually a good gaming card, whereas the x300 is terrible. It will run today's games only on low settings. With the x700, you can run any game out today on medium to high settings, and get smooth gameplay.

The extra gig of ram in the dell won't make near the difference that the more powerful graphics card in the Ferrari will. Besides, if you ever want more ram in the Ferrari, that's upgradeable for the future. You're stuck with whatever graphics card came with the notebook.

Just great, exceptionally stable and fast as a matter of fact.
