It is regrettably so very sad when even my most blatant examples of dry sarcasm are met with a response as if they were filled with staidness.
I think it also has to do with your palms rubbing the corrosive sweat & oil over the palmrest area. So washing your hands everytime you go to work or cleaning it probably won't help that much over the long run.
Get a box of surgical gloves and put on a fresh pair every time you sit down (or just get the KlearSkin or equivalent).
*sigh* i JUST took off the spec sticker on my W3V to find that there is a slight, but noticable border between the palmrest and border of where the sticker used to be
