Benchmark: M40 3dMark05 w/v77.72 Drivers - Page 2

About BF2 lag, surprisingly turning off VOIP and putting sound to lowest settings/software solved most if not all of the lag problems. The rest should be solved by a RAM upgrade.

just clocked my 3d mark 03 on my M40 545i and got 5974 but it's OC to 330/660. Anyone got ghigher clock speeds?

could someone tell me some direct instructions? sorry for being stupid.
i'm using an M40, with Go6600 128mb
so, i downloaded the 17MB exe file for v77.72. after executing it where do i place "Pieter's mobile INF modified for v77.72"? where is the driver's directory?

thanks for any help. cheers!
^zero,

You simply download the 77.72 file and the modified INF from laptopvideo2go.

After you download these, run the 77.72 file and this will automatically extract a folder named 7772 to the same directory. The inf that you want to replace will be within that folder. After you have replaced the file, you can install the driver without any problems.

im running win xp home, and i haven't done any video driver upgrade in my m40 prior. actually, just got this machine yesterday. =)

i can see that my forceware version is 71.70

thanks!

thats your problem :P u downloaded the x64 version of the driver... download the normal w32 drivers..and try it again
post #29 of 38
got it... thanks man...then i ran 3Dmark05...got about 2XXX..that's low...=( i think i have to reformat my m40..
Zero,
In 3DMark05, you shouldn't be getting more than around 2200. I usually get around 2100 on my M40-YP3. In 3DMark03, on the other hand, you should get over 5000.
if that's the case, then, i think my m40 is fine..=) got 2170...
thanks man!

hi there! just like to say that what i see in the 3d test(the free one) is a little bit disappointing...i mean the frame rates are really low....especially in the last part of the test...its like 1-2 frames per second! (i got about 2170...)

Probably cause it was running at the highest possible quality settings :P...

WHAT? Dude you're insane. Screw 3D Mark, I play Doom 3 at Max settings on a 1024x768 resolution!

I agree with thelastpatrol.

Don't take 3d benchmarks to heart, what matters most is performance in real games that you actually play.
hey dude! i see...i was just thinking about why its really low in 3dmark yet its really good in games, i know that. i play warcraft to full settings, and not a single lag at all..(DOTA)except for the the computer chooses his hero...

I'm still glad I can play games such as F.E.A.R, HL2, Doom 3 but not BF2 cause of driver issues. );
