Of course only the wide screen format would make sense for a CRT. Lowering the weight has been on manufacturers list of impossible things to do for a while, and a DVI connection would be pointless because CRTs are analog. Now I suppose they could do widescreen, but for some reason they don't.
What they should do is introduce DLP to monitors. Sure the technology is new, but they should be able to shrink the size. If they do, LCD won't be the only space saving solution.
