Review Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M4438G - Page 15

Yeah, it's included in the package Really stupid defect if I may add, though not a big one. What's under that raised part anyway? Something must be causing it, if Strange Species says that the keyboard itself is fine.

Bye people, I'm off to vacation (one week). Unfortunately without the 3438...

See ya

I'd check if I still had my laptop, but I don't at the moment. I'll probably have to wait until about Wednesday to get the new one. I can live with the spacebar being slightly off, and maybe I can fix it (if something is raising it, then I may be able to balance it out on the other side), but a bent base is a bit too much. Just gotta wait now... I hate waiting for things like this.

Anywho, see ya in a week.

Thank you RuptuRed for your answer .

What the hell is wrong with this thread/laptop, is this nickpicking or what. PROBABLY I will not be very much liked saying this but I have to. Some of You guys talk about overclocking the damn thing ? Why bother anywyay? You are sitting on a laptop, quite not sure if it was intentionally built for gaming because it needs a constant air flow. Each component are packed together like, well you know what. A lappy gets warm, it really does.

A kind advise is , do not overclock yor laptop if you are new to them.

I WILL ORDER THE 3438 TOMORROW. IF THE gpu GETS TO HOT I WILL TAKE THE SECOND hdd OUT AND THROW IT SOMEWHERE.

lol, you could buy it without the second hard drive, if that option is available. Mine only came with one for example. As for the overclocking, I agree. I don't intend to overclock mine unless I need to, due to the extra heat. However, if people do want to overclock it, they're completely within their rights to do so.

yeahh it'll be nice to have m3438 I'm stuck with my toshiba
I've read somewhere that the hardrives are from Fujitsu too Hmmm ... ii'm thinking - are there any low voltage hard drives??? I know 42000rpm creates less heat, but the performance loss is not accaptable foe me

I wonder if anyone has thought about making liquid cooling for a laptop...
Heh, that would be great... but I fear that the mobility would suffer a bit too much.

Definately sth wrong with your model I would return it for a new one Hey can u take out the second hdd and share with us your temps I'm so curious ..... uuu i forgot - unless u dont have them installed in raid
post #291 of 579
You really hit 100 celsius on the GPU?? Man, that's TOO MUCH if you really are serious... tell more

[edit]
These kind of temps, if they solely result from the comp having 2 HDs are simply unacceptable, you can't have something like this in a retail product...

Ok tomarrow i'm ordering a new lappy - Do you think that the M3438 is a good choice I can get it for $1200 - so thats a deal for me but the heating problem is not that good to hear
post #293 of 579

Well that's an amazing deal so go right ahead. I'm going to order the M3438G myself today. I will order the model with PM750, 2x80GB S-ATA and 1GB RAM (the best model that my country of Finland has to offer) and the price will be 1850 euros which is about 2290 dollars... The price sucks basically but what are you going to do. I could order it from Germany for much less but then I'd have to buy a whole new Windows (my language version) and get along with the German-style keyboard...

Oh, about the RAM. I'm going to have the two 512MB memories (that run at 400MHz) taken out and have them replaced with two Kingston's 1GB memories (that run at 533MHz) for a total of 2GB of RAM. It will cost me 250 euros... It will give me some longetivity to it.

100C is definitely too hot, something can't be right. It might be the surface you're resting it on.

As for you John, good luck with your purchase.

Surface: table, airflow: ok (I guess).. Temps while playing: TOO HOT (hit over 100C causing slowdown)
Just got it back from warranty support and they had only changed the fan of the processor. Then they said that the comp was tested and ok..
I wonder what their opinion is of ok temps

comp: amilo m3438, m750, 2x512 ddr2, !2x80hdd!, 6800go 256mt ddr1..

HEY YOU GUYS WHO OWN 3438 WITH 2xHDDs, COULD YOU PLZ TELL ME YOUR TEMPS AFTER PLAYING A WHILE!!! and you who have the comp with just one hdd, what kind of temps do you get?

Is it even possible to have bareable temps with 2xHDDs, is my only chance to take one of the HDDs away? Does it even help?
