Lualyrr, what bundle code-number was your laptop?

It should be LKN................. something.

For example the one I'm looking at is LKN:GBR177200008

I'm not sure what speed RAM sticks are contained in that bundle, though.

Uh, nice that someone besides me is happy as well, but picturing that kinda lowered my party spirit somewhat...

We need more party minded replies here... but if you can, paint a bit different mental images in them... (please do so, PLEAASE).

About InstantOn

When watching DVD under InstantOn CL PowerCinema I only get flattened (4:3 --> 16:10) picture; is there any way to make the proggie understand the properties of this display so i don't have to see the people short and fat?

Also, has anyone figured out a way of changing the stupid default (and only possible) directory where PowerCinema looks for media files? I hardly want to use the Document&Settings... folders for something like storing media files.

I've updated it into the newest version the FSC website has released. As it is, InstantOn is barely usable.

Oh, and i have M3438G, not 4438 but I don't know if that makes any difference.

We should all make Fujitsu change the Instant-on for us to use the harddrive as we like

Where to buy?

Hello all FS fans

I am going to buy the m3438g in a few weeks from the UK. I am searching for online shops (other than those in fs website) or regular shops in London. Any suggestions from where to buy it?

Also I want to know if it is possible to customize the laptop before buying it from fujitsu-siemens.

Still need to wait for my money. Think that i can buy one around 12-15 september. So.. untill then i have to watch the nice photo's.
Yeah, it sure does look nice What I'd like to hear though is a little more feedback about the build quality and how it compares in terms of build quality to other 17" laptops?

On another point, while this is still the laptop I intend to buy, I'm starting to waver a bit regarding the 64-bit issue, considering that I intend to use it for 4+ years and partly for various engineering utilities OTOH, what speaks for the M4438 is that there are no decently configured 17" Turion laptops about to be released any time soon. So it's either sticking with the M4438 or be without a laptop until well into next year. At least, that's what seems to be the case right now...

Hello

Try downloading the latest nVidia drivers from www.laptopvideo2go.com, replace the INF file with the one provided, and then install (if it fails, you didn't do it right).

After that, you can access the clocking stuff through the nVidia control panel (and at the bottom you can tell it to save the settings). However, my recommendation would be to not overclock it, as the laptop gets very hot.

No idea about the RAM sorry, not sure what you mean.

this is what i mean about memory my friend:

also i have access through nvidia control panel but it doesnt saves the clocks,Instead it is clocked automatically at default speed immediatelly.
I have the bios but i can edit it with nibitor2.4 neither with nvidia bios modifier...
any other help?
thank you in andvance

Hello, this is my first post and I have to say that I am from Spain and my English is not as good as I would like to. Sorry.
Well I have bought the 3438 (M760-2Gb, 2x1024Mb Ram, 2x80 Hard Disks, GeForce 6800-256Mb). I have read through all the thread, and as my English is not very good, I would like to ask some questions:
1- Are the drivers included in the Fujitsu CD enough to use the notebook for everything, or is it better to download any others? what drivers would you reccomend?
2- Is it possible to use the Xp CD included in the package to format the hard disk, and to reinstall the OS?
3- If I format the hard disk, do I lose any program or feature installed in the notebook (perhaps InstantOn)? If so, is it possible to download to reinstall them?
Thank you very much.

hi there, id personally recommend www.laptopsdirect.co.uk as not only were they the cheapest i could find but also when i had a problem with the graphics card (partly my own fault ) their customer service was very helpful and swapped it for a brand new laptop within a couple of days! also both times they upgraded me to next day delivery from standard! very impressed.

ps. this laptop is beautiful! even my non-techie girlfriend commented how great the screen was yesterday ! the only niggles i have are that the 'del' key is where the right 'ctrl' key should be meaning i cant quickly skip through text by pressing ctrl+left/right arrow key, no internal bluetooth and the remote is stored in the expresscard slot - but dont let this fool you, other than these minor minus points this is an absolutely incredible machine

1) Yes, they are enough, but you may want to upgrade some things, such as the graphics drivers just to improve it slightly.

2) Yes, I think that's exactly what it does.

3) You lose everything, but you can get it all back again. I'm not sure if InstantOn is kept when you use the restore disc, but it can be reinstalled anyway.

Thank you for your replay. do I have to upgrade from Fujitsu site? What would you reccomend to upgrade?
When you say that "I can get it all back", I understand that it is reinstalling Windows? And is InstanOn available for downlading?
Thank you again.

I recommend you update the graphics card drivers, and anything else you can. However, I don't see a need to upgrade the BIOS. InstantOn is downloadable from the website too:

http://www.fujitsu-siemens.com/suppo...?LNG=EN&ID=149

Everything on your laptop, except for things like Nero (which should have been supplied on CD), is available from that site.

Hello again,
I can see at Fujitsu site that there are several versions of a specific driver or application for downloading. Do I have to download all the versions, or is it enough to download the newest? I mean, does the newest contain the fixes of the older versions?
And I also see InstanOn 3in1 and only InstantOn, are they the same application or are they different?
Thank you for your help.
