Recording Sound and TV Tuner

I know that under MS Windows you have to have the tv tuner software running in the background in order to record sound.

I have been able to record sound under MS Windows using this technique

My question is, how would i get sound recording to work under Linux? I have had TV Time running while tring to record using KRec, but that was unsuccessfull.

Has anyone had any success at this?
