Bought an i9300 (sigh)

Good old Dell, the laptop never went through the building/testing/boxing phases, just straight to shipping. Guess what I got, someone else's return. What a waste. The keyboard totally vibrates on the right side making it unusable. No idea how to fix it. I can't believe I paid full price for some second hand faulty laptop. Thanks Dell!

Has anyone had this problem and found a way to fix it? Just thought I'd ask before I return it.

Just because it went straight to shipping doesnt mean it was a return.

If my laptop did that right out of the box, I wouldn't even consider fixing it - it would go directly back to Dell. Good luck!

Dell doesn't have a "sneaky dept" whose function is to slip refurbs in the supply chain. It would require more caring and organization than Dell possesses frankly. Dell ships 150K laptops a week in from it's manufacturing facilities, sometimes they have a defective keyboard or whatever. A phone call will have a new KB on it's way usually within 24 hours.

Go to the outlet and look at the total refurbs available, it's rarely over a couple thousand at any given time yet they ship in 150 thousand a week, why would they pick you to slip a refurb?

If you have other issues with Dell, just return it, get your money back and buy something else.

They probably don't have a "sneaky dept", but have you seen the earlier thread where someone got a DVD movie in their "brand new" I9300?

If you search my user ID, you'll see posts of my absolute horrid experience with Dell on 2 I9300's.

The advice to return the laptop and shop elsewhere is the best advice you could take. If you get a good laptop out of the gate, and are happy...you are lucky.

If you get a bad one...just RUN.

Thats nobody elses...they build and ship same day almost EVERYTIME...and this 9300 is my 6th Dell.

I take anecdotal evidence with a large grain of salt. Different people have different agendas and unsupported negative statements are especially suspect. If I hear the same thing from 10 people, I start to pay attention, if I hear it from 100, it's a fact, if I hear it from just one, well, angry people can say anything.

I did go look at some of your past posts and they are uniformly negative. Many are just like this one, you hop on a thread, do a drive-by hit on Dell and on to the next one. Your problems are hard to take seriously because they are so consistently outrageous, remember, there are a lot of Dell customers here and while Dell service can be trying, they *always* take care of it and we know it.

I'll offer you the same advice, sell your Dell (if you actually have one) and move on to something less aggravating, your anger can't be good for your health.
