loose cable inside my laptop

Today, while doing a cleaning in the fans and everything, I noticed a loosen cable with a connector that resembles connectors for fans.

No, it isn't the fan connect AND I didn't disconnect it accidentaly from anywhere (because everything is working ok...).

There is a tag on it written:

HL 43 D87PT 020
It is a black and a red wires connected to something that looks like a desktop connector for a fan (2 bare metal connectors and a plastic thing to have whatever is connected there stuck to it)
Does anyone know what is this for?
In case somebody know, is it a power supply for some fan or something like that? What would be the voltage/current on that cable?

thanks for any help

I think we all have that loose cable in there, mine does as well. I believe it is for an add-on or accessory item that you could have added to your 8790, like the bluetooth module, etc...

weird, I have all accessories except the card reader (which is in the other side anyway...) and none uses that cable.

BTW, the Bluetooth adapter (and the wireless adapter as well) go near the hardrives.

I wonder if it is for the Subwoofer when it is installed on that side (if it is possible)

hm.. I have the card reader, wireless and the subwoofer, and yet still have that wire loose.
I do not have the bluetooth adapter.
If anyone is thinking of selling their bluetooth adapter, let me know. I wonder if Sager sells it separately?!

Maybe it was for the TV Tuner?

If I were to guess, I might think that was a connector for the subwoofer that was offered in lieu of the card reader by some Clevo resellers ourside of the USA. Initially, the 8790 was to be offered with the subwoofer and the Tuner that could be used together; however, at the last minute, this was changed to an either/or option. I think it had to do with space and ventalation issues - just too much "stuff" inside the 8790 with the subwoofer crammed behind the card reader. If you look at the bottom, you can see the subwoofer "cutout" on the left hand side.

Also there were a number of posts concerning this about a year or more ago.

Just my nickel's worth of opinion.

I have the TV tuner as well. In one side there is the TV tuner, in the other side, where the card reader should be, lies the (useless) subwoofer...

I will search for the older posts

If anyone is interested, I'll trade my subwoofer for a tv tuner.
