Straight from AMD website this morning. FX-57 immediately available for sale.

Checked newegg but nothing there as of yet. Wonder Why

It is also said that alienware is one of the few to have this chip readily available!!!

Well i just priced an Aurora 7500 with an FX-57 and it is the same price as having dual core 4800, about $ 2900. So yeah $200 more than the FX-55 I think I would shell out that extra $200 for an amzing gaming oriented CPU

Yup I think DB is right. But now I wonder if companies actually got a chance to test the CPu with different componenets to see which ones work better with this processor.

Andantech said its a waste of money. Go read up...and for once I agree. I mean the FX-55 is more overclockable, and just barely 200mhz slower...Also, the 4800+ dual core AMD is the same price as the FX-57. He makes some good points.

I would consider upgrading my 6800 ultras for another 5k in 3dMark 05. I am sticking with the FX-55.

for several hundreds cheaper you can get an amd 3700+ w/ the same san diego core and OC it to 3ghz

so that's the best bang for your buck (go ahead DB, I know you want to...go ahead...comment away =P)

You can take a plain jane girl, give her breast implants and lip implants and lip her arse. YOu can have her bang the hell out of every skanky rocker on the planet until she has Hepatitis C. She still would not be Pamela Anderson.
