I've never done this - but all my friends do, so I'm going to, as well! Peer pressure!

Like people name their cars...

What is your laptop's name and gender?

...uh...mine are Dells...I call them 700m (or 2.0 or 1.6 if speaking to them directly)...I guess they're girls...they've got more places to stick things in than things sticking out...

When I end up getting around it, my 9200's getting named Phoenix. Cause it's been repaired so many times, and keeps coming back.

DELL in Dutch means "slut", but you spell it with one "L" less.
Hence my laptop is a she, and she's usualy refered to as "baby" or sometimes "bitch" or other female offensive words!

I tried that on www.freetranslation.com and it didn't mean that! Either that, or it's filtered!

I'm going to display an incredible lack of imagination and tell you that my name for my laptop is.... "my laptop." The gender has not been determined, and may not be during its lifespan....

I call my 9300 "The Beast." I guess that's masculine.

Not necessarily... unless all the "Beasts" out there reproduce by cell division

My desktop #1 is named the beast, so my laptop just got stuck with the name "mobile". I also think that it's kind of a uni-gender or something, but for you folks that have single-gender laptops here is a question for you:
if you stick a 17" male laptop and a 15" female laptop (for example) in the same room for a couple of days, will they sooner or later make a 12" baby laptop?

Although my Sony doesn't have a name, I do think of it as feminine. Maybe I should leave her in a dark room with The Beast (my 17" "male" laptop) and see what happens...
