Does the 9-Cell batter stick out of the Inspiron 6000?

It shouldn't. I think it uses the same battery size as the 17" models, and they don't stick out. It is heavier, but doesn't stick out.

I just bought a i6000 with a 9-cell and it doesn't at all.

i believe my 9-cell can last almost 6 hours just doing basic operations, and my moms 6-cell lasts a lil more than 4.

nope, doesnt stick out at all, same size as the 6 cell. and ya, you can get up to 6 hours if your doing really basic stuff

It's not any bigger but it sure is HEAVIER. Seems like 8 or more ounces..
Good battery life, though.

Also, it takes longer to charge.

With the 9-cell battery, intensive use and a bright screen should get you 4-5 hours of use while a dimmed screen and lighter use should get you 5-6 hours.

Wow, I only get about 2-3 hours while web browsing wirelessly on the 9 cell battery.
