WIFI Broadcom Drivers (7422GX)?

Thread Starter
Can someone please point me in the right direction for finding the correct Broadcom WIFI drivers for my 7422GX on the HP website. There are multiple entries and I've hosed my machine installing, uninstalling, and re-installing drivers trying to find which ones work. I would appreciate an HP computer model # (if possible) that uses these drivers.
In short, I am requesting help with the following items:
  • Link and/or equivalent HP Lappy that uses the Broadcom driver
  • I've seen two downloads (one is the configuration file I believe) do we need both?
  • Do I need to install the Gateway drivers first?
  • Will these drivers enable the speedboost if tweaked in the settings?
Thank you
PS Dell lappy links are also acceptable, I've just had an easier time searching the HP website

Filenames are SP29361.exe and SP29362.exe. I uninstalled the existing drivers first, then the HP files in the order listed. Whether or not you actually have to remove what's already there or not, I don't know. The Broadcom software was not on my 7422GX when I got it, but the HP stuff looks mostly identical so it might upgrade the existing install with no problems.

You will need to do an "update driver" and point the install to the extracted files location. Last time I looked at the latest HP and latest Dell offerings, these were newer.

You do not need to install the original drivers first nor uninstall the old if you don't wish.

Some (very few) users have reported success getting the speed boost to work. I personally don't have a speedboost router.
