I have a Toshiba 1710-CDS that originally came with a mini-pci modem. I've since bought a modem/lan combi card which installed first time.
My problem is trying to get a Broadcom BCM4306KFB 802.11b/g card to work with the laptop. I put the card in and the system won't even POST.
I've found bits relating to pin 11+13, taping them over so the onboard wifi switch doesn't affect the card. I've also read bits about different formats of MiniPCI card, some which conform to AGERE standard, involvig vendor-defined pins etc but no conclusive fixes. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and found the way round.
Once the card is taken back out the laptop goes back to normal and POSTs as usual
Can anyone help?!?!
