6800 Go Successful Bios Flash - Page 8

No, every time I type nvflash -p -u c:\orig.rom it gives me a bunch of primary commands......

I even just tried -p and just -u and still got the primary command menu....?

any suggestions?

Does -i forceflash? or is it -f

lol just let it be.. I have the feeling you'll end up blind flashing.. maybe the card bios is made to work with Clevo's mobo..

My bad. Those were from an older version I guess.

It's 'nvflash -5 -6 c:\orig.rom'

At least I think it is.

By the way, I'm staying up way late (it's near midnight and I get up at 5am to go to the gym) to see if anyone successfully overclocks by modding their bios.

Ok, go to bed lol, btw -5 -6 gave me a board ID mismatch...

I don't know then. I'll look into it tomorrow. In the meantime overclock and post some performance gains.

I'm scared to mess with HEX

(but i'm not afraid to flash ...go figure lol)

Anyone made any headway on uping the voltage from 1.3 to 1.4 or higher by flashing?
That´s the way I will do - if the bios work is done and there is a possibility to oc...
I then will have a look at the supply voltage IC´s on the Ultra. I think I will realize it like I already did it with my old Inspiron 8200. A switch to "overvolt" the Ultra. If you want power then you can do it by demand and save battery when off.
Then I can put a photo guide in here - but first the bios must be changed.

So what's the verdict on the Sager 6800 Ultra bios? Doesn't work?
no one has the guts to try it

EDIT- shom does.. but we can't get nvflash to flash it because the boards aren't the same

WoHOOO! SUCCESS. I have successfully modified and flashed the orginal Dell bios!!!!

I set the clock to 475 and Memory to 1100 and it stuck! It was beotch trying the get the checksum correct as per the instructions on the first page from Yagiska. I figure I will test it for a few more hours at this clock/memory and then try a little higher by modding the bios again.

Temps hovering around 73 C

No lockups in BF2 so far everthing cranked up high and running much smoother!

Nice - now hopefully the next step will be an unlocked bios. Perhaps if Yagiska enlists the help of the Nibitor author it will get done much faster (you can find his email in the nibitor program).

Dude your a vampire like me LOL! I emailed the author the bios a day ago maybe he can help out down the line.

overridetype 5 Allow firmware and adapter PCI device ID mismatch.
overridesub 6 Allow firmware and adapter PCI subsystem ID mismatch.

There doesn't seem to be a board override. If it were me, I wouldn't flash it. But, I have both images. As soon as I can get ahold of a good disassembler like IDA Pro I might be able to modify our bios to allow driver overclocking and give it whatever advantages the Sager bios has.
