ferrari 4000 vs Travelmate 8104 - doom 3

which would be best for doom 3 game play

ive read benchmarks that ferrari 4000 gives 49 fps avg

and travel mate 8104 goes 46

yes i would 3 fps over buying the machine, in the end it matters

also as a linux machine

i cant seem to find any laptops under 1.4" which sport a 128 nvidia card

cause i would take any < 1.4" nvidia 6600~ over any ati (this is because i plan to run linux, and nvidia is KING in linux) if u know any good laptops like this let me know cause i cant find ne

Z71V is like 1.36" thick I think.

that the laptop MUST have a pci-E card, its useless other wise

lol I don't play it. I hear it plays well (and it isn't a slideshow). nVidia 6600GO is PCI-E.

All the benchmarks I've seen for the Z71V are really low, I was considering buying one, but it benches about half of what the i9300 I bought benches. I dont play Doom3 because I think minions from hell are particularly disgusting, and I would rather shoot humanoids in Counterstrike or Half-life 2... Yes I know, I'm a wuss, get over it. Anyway, the point is, to my knowledge the 6600 in the Z71V doesnt do all that great. The i9300 doesnt even have PCI-E and it still outperforms it easily. I may be getting a 4005WLMI pretty soon for my secondary though, which is why I'm scanning all these threads
