mine is 18 months old and has yet to have a single Dead Pixel....
Typically you don't develop dead pixels (actually, never heard of that happening), it is either there when it was made or it isn't. I didn't get one either. I had one on an old laptop and on my current PDA. Both got fixed/replaced (after a little coertion).

I take it that "Firefox" is a software program, right? Anyone have a link? You guys all talk about it so much, I figure I'd better download it.

Firefox is the best webbroswer available for the PC (IMHO). www.getfirefox.com

Get that, and search for the Sessionsaver and Tab Browser Preferences extensions and its a killer! True one window, tabbed browsing (TBP) and will resume ALL of your tabs + histories (Back/forward/place on page) when you start firefox back up!

Update: I lowered the DPI down to 96 from the default of 120 (never thought I'd do that!) and changed the font size to "Large Fonts"... now everything is crisp, sharp, bright -- and easy to read. I'm really impressed with this screen.

Personally I'd recommend using Firefox (instead of IE) and adding this extension: http://www.cosmicat.com/extensions/textzoom/. It will make reading text on web pages a pleasure. No squinting required, just beautifully sharp text.

Interesting. I think I'll keep mine at 96.

At least for a while.

And MitchellO--thanks for the Sessionsaver link. That thing's pretty darn useful.

Isn't it!! I crashed my system the other day, and rebooting brought me right back to where I was!

I have to agree that the wxga is just kinda blah for surfing and application use. Seems ok when playing a dvd full-screen though.

However when I am playing games it does not come accross as anywhere near as bad. Specifically in BF2 I think it looks amazing.

Has anyone's WSXGA+ developed any dead pixels? I'll be receiving mine in about a week and am hoping I get a good screen.

Nope. 100% perfect from day 1!!

Did you try it at 96 for 3 days?

Heh, whoops.

I meant to say that I'll keep mine at 96.
