I bought a Toshiba Multimedia Center
, which is a USB hub + network + audio. The network speed is excellent, the audio quality is superb (SPDIF output), it keeps all my USB junk out of the way, and when I want to take my laptop away I just unplug the USB, DVI, and power cables and I'm gone. All for less than half the cost of the dumb Acer docking station (which I purchased and returned due to its clunky design and refusal to recognize my USB devices). In fact I bought the Multimedia Center and a DVI KVM switch for the same price as the Acer docking station alone.
I also use the angled USB cord to help the Multimedia Center connection get out of the way better, they sell 'em for just a couple bucks.
