So calling a guy a starbucks vending machine, and telling him I am going to make a poll about him is insulting him Looks like you need to rethink what you consider an insult... Here's an idea, let people take care of themselfs, if someone insults me for example, it is up to me to take care of it. I wouldn't want some one to attempt to rectify the scenario for me.
Actually, it had nothing to do with a Starbucks remarks and everything to do with your insults of myself and mwillman repeatedly in this thread. At least know WHAT you're talking about before offering an opinion next time, alright?

"stlee"

Once again, you have tried to make the thread all about you. Do you really need an ego boost that bad? If so, there's a book by Stuart Smalley you might want to read...

Seeing as you completely ignored my statements on making polls you have proven to be a hypocrite.

1. Your negative rep was on my post about making a poll about that guy
2. You say I need to know what I am talking about, where you clearly ignore my retribution about polls.
3. You're neg rep says "Continues insults towards fellow members", which is implying my previous posts have been considered insults, such as my starbucks vending machine comment.
4. For the record there is no such thing as a Starbucks vending machine to the best of my knowledge.
5. I'm bored of numbering

Get over yourself go and try to prove yourself on the off topic forum

Pay attention to the comment for the action instead of WHERE the action was placed. You obviously read that, so you should have had an idea of the impetus behind it. If it escaped you, then that's none of my concern. I can't help it if others aren't aware of their own actions.

Get off the high horse and come back to reality.

Michael..its not like his rep points mean anything..poor guy is just shooting blanks, probably literally as well?

tntoak..once again you try to make this thread about YOU and you keep propounding the "valid points" you made up..what are you? a politician? stop with this madness, you sound like a car salesman or some high school teenager selling cosmetics for a commission..stop pressing the issue....

as far as an ego boost..who's the one trying to sound like a smarta** each and every post, and thread for that matter...ive been in other threads where you cared to let your opinions known, and it is no suprise that there are people there who disagree with you and your comments which make you sound like a shy high school nerd who has all these opinions boiled down inside and finally there is an outlet to express them here on NBF....

i don't know how you handle all these mini-arguments you are having with other members..do you just intend to start these little flame wars?Or do you truly believe you are right all the time?

As far as the Stuart Smalley book, it looks like you've read it a couple times over, so go ahead and open it back up again, get a nice cup of tea, and stay of NBF until you can learn how to work well with others...

And a suggestion, try Tupac Shakur's song, "me against the world"...might correct the serious character flaw that you possess, and of which you don't care to realize

geez..i wonder what you next response will be about .....

[cough] something along the lines of "stop the insults, you need to mature because i always address the issues, DIRECTLY" [cough]

YOU are telling me to get back to reality? ohh this is just great, lol I needed a good laugh, or 50, after believeing you were being serious! Seeing as making a poll about someone is a terrible thing, maybe you want a poll about your intelligence, or lack thereof, made? ohh this is great! I'm laughing my ass off, my head is going to be next! You still don't get it do you? Well not my problem
post #306 of 393
Sorry Steele, I just haven't a laugh that good since I listened to Al Franken about 5 hours ago, as for negative rep, I could care less if I get negative rep, but if it is from someone lacking a logical answer, claiming to give rep for someone else who I "insulted", but wait.... then he said I insulted him as well? Looks like he hasn't got his story straight! lol ohh this is fun!!!!!!

Usually, I'm part of the third group. I've also been accused of being a Dell employee, but I think that was on the Dell forums.

Sooooooooooooooooo...............what's wrong with Dell?

Every time I try to bring the thread back to the intended topic, you keep bringing up your beef with MWillman, completely ignoring my points in favor of keeping the discussion focused on you.

I never said a damn thing about the people who buy Dells either - that's another invention of your mind to attempt to discredit me and keep the discussion focused on your perceived personal insult. Dell sells to anyone who will pay for their PCs - but a bulk of their business is focused on the entry-level consumers, who have little or no experience with PCs and don't need the latest and greatest hardware just to send email to friends and family. That doesn't imply that the customers are cheap OR broke. That's why you see the ads on TV and in Sunday circulars like Parade advertising $399 systems complete with monitor and printer. That's also the same market eMachines focused on exclusively until their big refresh in 2002, when they changed their suppliers and started carrying higher-end models with AMD and even Pentium 4 processors. Most people who are looking at their first PC are not going to buy a $3000 setup with DVD burner, 2+GB RAM, the best videocard on the market that month, etc. And why is that? Because many of them barely know much more than what they need to get by at work or school. That doesn't mean that the customers are "cheap and broke", it means that they didn't want to or didn't see the need to spend thousands of dollars on a system when they can get one that will do everything they want it to for under one thousand dollars.
Well spoken!

1. Practices Directed At OEMs

a. Exclusive and Near-Exclusive Deals

38. Dell. In its history, Dell has not purchased a single AMD x86 microprocessor despite acknowledging Intel shortcomings and customer clamor for AMD solutions, principally in the server sector. As Dell's President and CEO, Kevin Rollins, said publicly last February:

Whenever one of our partners slips on either the economics or technology, that causes us great concern.... For a while, Intel admittedly slipped technologically and AMD had made a step forward. We were seeing that in customer response and requests.

39. Nonetheless, Dell has been and remains Intel-exclusive. According to industry reports, Intel has bought Dell's exclusivity with outright payments and favorable discriminatory pricing and service. In discussions about buying from AMD, Dell executives have frankly conceded that they must financially account for Intel retribution in negotiating pricing from AMD.

My parents got me a 600m for my brithday last year. It's kinda cool, but now that I'm reading about notebooks that are smaller, lighter, cooler, more durable, and more powerful I kinda see Dell computers as average.
Well you get what you pay for. I see people getting 9300s with 258mb video and other goodies for $1300 or less. My brother's 6000 was a steal. Then you complain about problems with it. Just think about how much you paid!

I would definately jump on the dell bandwagon if they had what I wanted but unfortunately they don't.

Now if your $2000+ laptop with red car paint slopped on it has problems, then you have a right to complain.

Average ... hehe.

Check the benchmarks before you make statements like that.

Benchmarks don't tell you a damn thing about the quality of a product. If all you care about is gaming performance, then look at benchmarks first. If you care about reliability, customer service, and other factors, look at reviews of the actual products, forums like this one to see what actual users are saying about the company's products, and sites like the BBB or resellerratings.com. Benchmarks alone won't tell you anything about whether the PC you're looking at will last for six months or six years.

Yes yes, the Dell brand of computers must suck. That's.... why they sell more computers than any company in the world, right? That's why for every customer you have saying, "Nay" to Dell, you have 20 that will exclaim how great the computers are, right? That's why Dell computers have won countless awards over the years from magazines, online review sites, and editors, right? Because they're crappy?

But no, you're right. Companies like Alienware have WONDERFUL service and support. That's why they falsley advertise on their website. That's why they have absolute horror stories posted to their forum (provided they weren't deleted by the mods) about how AW techs were instructing the owners to open the laptops up themselves, thereafter telling them that they were liable for any damage.

And it's not just Alienware, obviously. You name a company outside of IBM (and they've had issues as well, I'm sure) and there are people who are more than willing to vouch for their own personal crappy experience with the computer, the tech support, or the whole shebang.

My last Dell was a Dimension 4100 and ran nearly perfect for 5 long years. I have experienced nothing but top-notch service from Dell whenever I have had to call them. Recently, I broke a keyboard (my fault) and within 24 hours of making the initial phone call, I had a new one in my hands.

Of course, I probably shouldn't bring up the fact that statistically, Dell sells the most computers, and therefore stands to have the most customer service complaints. You probably will ignore that.

And now, just a quick check, for fun:

Yeah. Man. Dells must suck. I mean, who uses a Dell anyway?
