Dell notebooks are so cheap it makes me feel like I am hindering the economy by not buying two inspirions for the price of one sager.

But mostly I am disappointed because the mouse buttons on Inspirion 9300 are too big

you were undercharged for your DELL because it was meant and marketed to the "entry-level" market segment, whose users don't know any better about quality, workmanship, and performance. Just goes to show you how things that are CHEAPER than the norm are not as GOOD! SO PAY MORE MONEY to get QUALITY..that is the motto! This i say is TRUE!!! It's not the gospel, but it comes straight from JESUS's mouth....

As for the big mouse buttons on your 9300.....that just goes to show you how low DELL would stoop to sway the customer into buying a wireless mouse, which DELL so conveniently offers for sale on their website. It's like a wicked WEB, they're trying to deceive us with their unethical business practices by makings things corrupt so we have to purchase more from them!!! What next, are they going to offer laptops without 2 "windows" buttons on the keyboard!! They should be reported to the FTC, BBB, FBI, CIA, DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, the NHRA, NHL, AARP, UFCW, WWF and everywhere else!!

Help guys! I bought Dell! That means my notebook is entry-level... right? Omgwutisaprozecor n cud sum1 tel me wut a RAM iz?

"I said that they focus the majority of their efforts on the entry-level market, and that is the same market that requires the most support and gets the most complaints."
That would be incorrect. Most of Dell's efforts are focused on the business market.

"I know that more entry-level HPs, Sonys, Gateways, etc. get complaints then their respective higher-end models, but at the same time they don't seem to have as many as Dell."
But on the other hand, Dell sells way more systems than HP, Sony, and Gateway. Also, you forgot to mention that HP and Sony sell most of their entry-level machines through retailers, which means a lot of the service goes through the retailer, and not HP itself.

"I was severely under charged for my notebook. Great, now I feel guilty, too. I guess I'll go buy an Alienware or a Sony.

"Omgwutisaprozecor n cud sum1 tel me wut a RAM iz?"
Huh? RAM? Stop it, you nerd. Stop using all those big computer geek words.

isn't a RAM like a mascot of that football team that plays in St. Louis (formerly of Los Angeles)? I have this old gold/white football jersey that says "RAMS" on it.....

i wish i knew..but if it's a computer word, i must not know what it means since i'm part of the aforementioned "entry-level market" and therefore am not equipped or required to know what it means. Can someone with experience in the IT field and who has worked with more DELLS than i will ever own in my lifetime, my parent's lifetime, and my third cousin's lifetime tell me what RAM is? DELL advertises to me with their nifty ad's and $299 deals without explaining this to me, how dare they engage in some deceptive practice..time to report this to the FCC, FTC, EPA, BBB, and the NFL!

Yes, your laptop is an "entry-level" system and YOU are part of the "entry level market" which DELL specifically targets. According to some "experts", you are more prone to making complaints and having problems with the system and therefore your computer SUCKS more than a commercial grade vacuum cleaner and pamela anderson on a friday nite combined!

I wonder if Toak would like to do a few benchmarks with his incredibly well-built Gateway against my "entry-level notebook". You think he would go for it?

You cant forget that the parts Dell use are cheap, your 6800Ultra and my 6800Go will never keep up with the likes of his amazing Intel Integrated Extreme II! Now that my friends is a TRUE gamers graphic card

Hmm, I wonder who would win that competition. Even if his processor got close, when it came to video games, he'd be killed.

Hey, I decided I'm going to buy a Gateway instead of that Dimension 9100 with dual core processing and BTX cooling. Gateways are advertised for $399. That must mean they're better than Dell and their $299 entry-level systems. Too bad the 9100 would have cost $2000+. Oh, well. I guess since Gateway prices their systems higher, they must not be entry-level. I know some stuff about computers, so I better not buy a Dell, which are only for inexperienced users looking for an entry-level system. I guess we better inform Ford and Boeing that they're using entry-level systems to run their company. I'm not going to fly in Boeing planes anymore. They were created with the help of entry-level machines.

Regular Dell tech support is laughable. I called asking about a 512mb memory order and the lady kept telling me that Dell didn't sell 512mb hard drives. I just gave up after 30 minutes of her trying to understand and hung up.

On the other hand if you have direct connections to a representative or someone who knows what they are talking about you can get your question answered quickly (if they answer the phone at all, which is just because they are busy like everyone else at work).

Nah. He'll probably buy an entry-level gun that costs $50 and shoots cotton-balls.

It's funny how the people who want the thread to die are actually the ones keeping it alive, as most of the people who were arguing on this thread haven't been here in a couple of days. Anyway, why do you care if this thread is alive or not? If you don't want to be in it, leave.
