pcmcia or usb audio interface?

Hello all,
I am looking to buy a new audio interface along with my new laptop, but I was wondering if anyone had an idea what the max transfer rate on a pcmcia card into the computer is? The usb 2.0 should be fast enough, but, if the pcmcia is faster I will probably go with that. (choosing between the E-mu 1616m and the Edirol UA-101)

PCMCIA IS FASTER

The echo indigo io is an excellent product. I ve used the firewire 410, the tascam us122, and the echo. The echo is by far the best of the lot for my purposes or electronic music composing and monitoring. With the input, you can record too. If you need more inputs, then the you should look at the rme products.
