Most notebook designed backpacks have a protected pocket for the notebook right behind the shoulder straps, that is, on the side of the backpack that actually faces your back. Now that I have some classroom books and folders to stuff in as well, my backpack is getting closer to full capacity.
So far I have been inserting my notebook with the screen/lid facing into the backpack, that is, facing the front of the backpack. But now I am wondering if there is a safer or prefed position.
1) Lid/Screen should face toward front of backpack and bear the brunt of any books against it?
2) Lid/Screen should face toward the back of the backpack and bear the brunt of the force of my back against it?
The bag is still roomey, no suggestions for a bigger bag please. But as a precaution I'm just wondering. By the way, my bag is the Samsonite Laptop Sport Backpack see here
