Asus W1 :
1.8 Dothan
1 G SDRAM
100 G , 5800rpmHD
So Far So Good , Only Occasionally i've been "electrocuted" by the metal casing :P

Reason for buying, iwon't lie, but the main reason for me to get this note book, isbecause ofthe design, material, and the build quality, it's simply awesome, and forme , it can;t easily put even Powerbook, to shame :P

And also becasue it's an ASUS :P

Are you typing on your W1? If you are... you might wanna check and be sure your keyboard is okay... because i've never seen so many typos jk

Z80K
Athlon 3400, 1 MB 400 MHz, 80 GB WD, combo drive.
Had constantly changing fan speed. Mini vacations became frequent. Fedora core 4 X32 had same fan speed unstable problem. 2.8 BIOS did not cure. Clean WinXP Pro install cured fan speed & vacations. Z80 now refuses to install drivers for WLAN.

Next step is install Fedora 4 X64 in place of X32.

I love my Z70V! Check my review here... (the webserver has been up and down all day, so it might be hit or miss at the moment, sorry)

Z70V

1gb Kingston PC4200 533mhz RAM

I ordered a Z71V barebone. Havent received it yet, but i voted Z71 series.
I have pre-ordered the Z70V refresh (Z70VA)...so I voted for the Z70 series.

My configuration will be:

1.86Ghz processor
100-GB 5400 HD
2-GB DDR2 RAM
128-MB Graphics Card
Internal Bluetooth
MS Office
a/b/g wireless card
etc....etc..

How does that sound?

love mym6bne.

only 1.5ghz processor....but handle games and apps with no real lag.
1.5ghz ram
60g HD
ati mobility 9700

handle games such as Guildwar....neverwinternights...baldurs gate...counter strike........no problems at all with highest settings.

juggling work and play, size and prices........the m6n is still one of the best....my point of view.

Let's hear it for the A2H Series

Have used an A2500H for a year now. Not fancy but truly bulletproof.
Pentium 2.4, 1GB, 60GB HDD, 15" LCD
I have both a M6N and a A6Ne.... Voted for the M6N.
I've owned a M6NE for close to a year and I'm very satisfied with it. Not cracking case, keyboard is perfect, no dead pixel. I do have some minor disagreament with it.

Cons :

- The screen. I know it's a matte finish and it's a good one, but not enough bright. It's difficult to appreciate the photo taken from my digital camera, i need to move to my old CRT on my desktop to see them clearly

- Fan is located at the right most people are right handed i think. When playing games, you are so sweating by the hand that you should start your own pool filling business.

- Finally, the 4 quick button for cd playback are just too sensitive. If you touch it just a little bit, your windows media player, or in my case, Power dvd starts.

Else than taht, perfect laptop that i recommand to everyone!
