100GB 7200rpm gone? - Page 2

Does Dell US_ATG_Online_Orders or whatever they are called give out concession coupons? I sure hope so. I've sent 4 emails today, and no coupons yet. They also avoid answering the specific questions about the 100 GB hard drive. It's really annoying. This past email I sent I listed three questions like this:

So hopefully they take the hint that I want answers!! I couldn't even do the Dell chat since it said I was not a Home user... yeah, only about another 1,500 miles of rowing until the laptop gets to Hawaii from the middle of the Pacific

Don't think so, my contacts have always been with US_CAG_Customer_Care@dell.com as my order was through Home and not the EPP (which I guess is yours).

You know what, try that email and just put in your order # and customer #. They always offerred coupons or credit for me...

Is that the regular email? I dunno who is reading mine, but they are obviously in India since they have poor English. I just want my computer! I think I will try that one tomorrow morning since I just sent off an email to ATG about an hour ago. Hopefully they'll email me back and set me straight (or not, which I expect). I hate being given the run around (where they say they are working hard on my order, but it hasn't gone into production for over 2 weeks).

Yeah, thats regular email. They're not that quick except for one instance. Generally, they'll reply by 12 hrs..like tomorrow morning.

I got the reply email in about 2 hrs.

B*ggers, they won't answer the questions on the hard drive - maybe they do not have the info, just the stock boiler plate paragraphs about Dell cares this and that...

I just played again with the Dell config and the 35% coupon and the config price was a tad higher with the 7K80 drive versus the 7K100 and the only difference is the inclusion of the bluetooth. Think I'll wait till the July 5 "estimate" ship date rolls up and then I'll grind them...

Sheesssshhh....

Same here, If mine doesn't enter building by next Wednesday or Thursday, I am going to be on their case!!! That will be the 14 or 15 days from June 15 (when I ordered it).

Yeah that's true, but I'm sure some people want what they ordered. Still have time till the ship date and the 80 Gig will be fine if it comes to that. No worries here.

Peng, thanks for the transcript. Certainly not good news and I looks like my deadline for July 5 is a fizzer at the moment - f*ck-a-doodle-doo.
