No worries LittleJohnny, 9 weeks is more than an average person has patience for and I had enough. It got to the point where Dell CS was not even answering my basic questions about the order and, trust me, I worded it with no inflamation though I could have chewed them up (until the last email one).
Another reality to hit me was that I am going on vacation soon so I'll be scr*wed when they deliver and I will not be home to sign for it. The 19th was Final and last deadline.
Look, I walked away from my dream order but at least not empty handed - Dell CS offered me the $90 Electronic and Accessories coupon and I ended up with $110 worth of goodies - one of the things my wife ordered did not turn out to be what they had described on the website so rather than return the $25 goods for an exchange, Dell CS told us to keep it and sent us the replacement free.
(Theres a scam waiting to happen as well....ssshhhh, don't tip anyone else)
So NOT all Dell CS is the evil Darth Vader supervisor from hell and I wrote a nice thank you email to that particular rep.
I will miss not having the new Gen 2 like you guys and pray the next system order will not be anything like the nightmare I had with my Gen 2 order. It's a bigger loss to Dell to lose the $2.7K + $110 worth of E&A comp than it will ever be to me, infact, I believe I AM IN THE BLACK !
Enjoy your Gen 2 guys ! Just think of the Albsterama on this old and trusty Inspiron 8200 and feel free to have a good chuckle after...
