Intel seems to be too concentrated on marketing and stuff
okay.. their wireless card does kinda suck.. now i realize it..
their P4 lines are crappy compare to AMD-64's..

I dont find any competition microsoft has at present. And I dont know how to use linux

btw wat will u do if company one for whom you sell 9 notebooks says we wont supply parts to you if you sell that 1 notebook anymore.

that is complete monopoly man.

no1 will risk such a big loss.

anyways who wins or looses doesnt concern me anyways. All I want is good technology and good price. Amd give both .Intel doesnt. Hence intel sux.

devarshi84 you should seriously consider rephrasing your last post, I'm not a spelling nazi, but your last post is seriously incomprehensible.

Even though Intel's business practice could be concidered unethical, I don't see anything that screams illegal, as many people have said, suing someone is quite easy, winning the case is the hard part, even though everything you guys post here seems interesting, one has to analize the original source, and specifically, see if there are any conflicts of interests.

Literally, and legally, Intel does not have a monopoly on the micro processor industry, they do hold the majority of the market share, but just because my business is bigger than yours it doesn't mean I'm a monopoly, and your existance proves this, Intel isn't the only microprocessor builder.

What you guys fail to see is the fact that this is not bullying, or bribing, it has a name, and its called competitive pressure, capitalism -encourages- this, and its not the only market where it happens (shrugs) you guys just seem to love to use the term "Monopoly" against large global corps. when its really not.
Best writeup of this yet. This ought to "chill them motherf*****s out" (Pulp Fiction) for a while. Hehe, I love that film! "Do you see a sign out front that says dead..." (you finish it)

So my fellow AMD fans and my former Intel fanboys, chill out, take a deep breath, and realize that the world will keep on ticking and Intel and AMD will keep on existing for the foreseeable future, that being a good few years. Sure the tide may turn in AMD's favor but that's the way things work. Some days you win some, some days you lose some.

Anywhoo, I gotta make the render farms crunch more fractals... pack those big boys in ice, overclock them to 5.0ghz, and keep the fire extinguisher at bay.

Grow up and learn to write properly. What are you, twelve? How lazy are you that you cannot write "the" and "forget". You mispelled "It's" by the way. And who are you calling boy? Respect your elders, youngun'.... back in the day we had to wake up 10 at night half an hour before we went to bed, and clean the shoebox in which 40 of us lived. We would lick the broken glass off the road and wash it down with nitric acid. Then we would go down to the mines to work for 28 hours a day, paying the mine owner 20 cents an hour to be allowed to work there. When we got home our mother and father would kill us with the breadknife and dance over our graves singing "Hallelujah!". Yeah, kids nowadays... you have it easy...

I completely agree with jinx I have been trying to say the same thing, but words seem to fail me and the fact that I don't immediately jump up and down screaming die intel bastards causes people to label me as an intel fanboy. I find it funny that this whole time I have actually been reading post and trying to understand where you are coming from then attempt to explain my view which jinxed did so eloquently and the AMD "fans" have been jumping all over me not even discussing the point but saying I don't know what I'm talking about, with no proof otherwise just ignoring anything negative about AMD.... now that sounds a little like a fanboy to me....

And I also find it rather funny that people think their one experience with a company makes them great.. "I have never had a problem with [insert company] there product worked fine their service was great you are just [insert insult] for not liking [insert company]"
Or their one bad experience "My [insert company] laptop is a [insert explitive] piece of [insert explitive] I bought it and when it came in the box it was fine then the [insert part] broke. I got hemorrhoids from sitting down while waiting 39 hours on hold to talk to a [insert company] representative. When they finally got on the line they hung up while laughing. I hate [insert company] they suck never buy them again"

The problem is people can't look past their ONE experience with a company and see that one experience doesn't mean the whole company is bad or good. A company has employees they are people just like you and me, if one employee is an jerk that doesn't mean a whole company is bad. What if someone judged you based off of only one experience they had with you. When giving reviews about companies try to be more objective and realize your experience doesn't make or break a company. It seems that posts about "Company A vs Company B which is better" turn into flame wars about who had a worse experience and why a certain company sucks instead of an intelligent discussion about facts and experiences with a company. So try to cut out the personal attacks and tirades and honestly share your opinion without all the anger people will respect your opinion much more if you do.

By the way shadowmage in his post Jinx was neither for nor against intel or amd....it seems you came to the conclusion that AMD was going to take over the chip market.

Jinxey, who says I am trying to get you banned... maybe I just want to get close to your pet troll so that I can get intimate with him... trolls need lovin' too ya know!

Quoted exactly from a powerpoint presentation used to teach students at illinois state university. I would like to see "your definition" of a price discriminating monopoly. Price discrimination isn't illegal... for example if you book your airline tickets or hotel early you get a cheaper rate. That IS price discrimination, it doesn't cost the companies any less to provide service whether booked early or late, and I bet you enjoy it when you get the cheaper rates. Should the airline and hotel companies be sued because little bed and breakfast places can't give the same deals?
That's not what the lawsuit is about. The lawsuit is about Intel tying its volume discounts to quotas. Intel is telling these companies that if they want the lower prices (and the resultant margins), they can only sell so much AMD products. That is price fixing. The example you gave above isn't price fixing, and isn't even in the same category, no matter how you or ISU tries to spin it. In fact, the example you gave is a false analogy to the Intel/AMD situation.

If Holiday Inn offers discounts to people who book early, that does nothing to prevent Hilton, Best Western, or any other chain from competing in the market. Furthermore, Bed and Breakfasts or small local hotels aren't going after the same people as the chains (i.e., conventions or other large gatherings), so it's not limiting the market in that manner either. Intel, on the other hand, is implementing policies that directly limit the ability of the OEMs to offer competing products, which limits the choice on the part of the consumer. The hotel example does nothing to limit the choice of the consumer, because they are free to choose whichever hotel/B&B/etc. they want to stay at. Therefore, is is a false analogy, and your argument falls.

There are some great articles over at overclockers.com on this subject. They're pretty interesting reads to say the least. I won't get into this fight as I find it's more political than legal in my opinion.

I am in no mood to pickup a fight man. take this lightly and keep posting.THE language I use is what every1 uses here. Its in my blood ,its my culture and I am proud of it. no need for me to change it as I am not offending any1 with it.

@student

You are damn stupid, that's what you are.  Consider an example, two guys sit at  a math test, they are both about equally good in math but one is physically much much stronger than the other. This guy goes to the guy who is going to correct the papers and says he is going to bash him up if the other chap comes out ahead, on the other hand if HE wins he'd pay him some money.

The guy correcting  the paper thinks  they are both almost equal anyway, so he fails the weaker one and passes the brawny chap. Now, according to you, this would be a completely fair practice.

AMD is as good and cheaper it should have had nearly half of the market share, but Intel used its monetary clout to shut it out. This is unfair and illegal. That is why you have the lawsuit. this is not about saving the underdog. AMD is not really the under dog in their manufacture, but they are underdogs in money power and state has to see it does not uses this to trample on its competition. Also, why cant you see the consumer is the ultimate loser? If AMD keeps lagging behind because of being short of funds the frantic innovation you see, and the price points you see would not be there.

And Intel did bully. It didnt send in Ninjas merely threatened a lawsuit. Check your facts out.

Think how it would be if Apple threatened carriers not to sell android phones. Would the fact that iPhone is better be an excuse?

hmmm ...

1st, are they still going after each others after all these years?

2nd - I do not appreciate any members calling others stupid here at NBF. Presenting arguments when difference of opinion occurs is fine, calling each other names is another game altogether.

cheers ...
