I was using the older Omega's, and getting the occasional blue screen with white sparkles. Thought it was overheating and picked up one of those antec coolers (was looking for an excuse). Official ATI 5.6's are treating me well thus far.
Anyone using catalysts other than 5.6 and still crashing? Maybe it's the latest drivers that's causing the problem. Cause I wasn't having any problems with the demo, but when I had the demo installed I had the previous omegas installed.
I bought a retail version, using the Dell MR9800 driver, and had no issue in game play. However the game crashes all the friggin time when trying to connect to a server. I got so pissed I threw the disk out the window, got up, picked it up, put it back in its sleeve, put everything back in the box and drove back to Circuit City where I returned the thing. They gave me my money back even though it was open.
You guyz, can you try something? When I remove one of the ram sticks it is not crashing as often. Can you try this and test this? It doesn't matter which stick is inside, so it is not a bad ram issue (I've tested them with memtest 30 passes)
There is something seriously wrong with this game. I tried changing the settings to high and then not even one other game I had, Juiced would start. They would both crash as soon as I started them. Then I uninstalled the catalyst drivers and installed them again an now they both start. Does it modify the catalyst drivers or something?
Edit: Just tried clicking audio in the options and it crashed. maybe it has something to do with the audio? Maybe it is installing some software for the headset it comes with some versions of the game?
Edit2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have found the problem. I was right!!!!!! You can connect to the servers that don't have the headset symbol on, but you can't connect to the servers that have the headset symbol on.
Now, the only thing there is to find is where these drivers are installed and we can play on the headset servers as well.
