A few final questions b4 i order

I noticed that the prices on all the models dropped drastically, so now i think it is time to order. Before I do, i must know a few things. Is the extended warrenty similar to dells where if the laptop gets damaged severly or curosive acid is spilled on it, will it be replaced for free? I take it Sager will replace up to 2k$ if there are problems with it, so am I right about this whole warrenty deal?

Also, Both the primary and secondary cd bays on the 5680 are hot swapable, so i could just pop out a hdd and replace it with a battery if i needed to correct?

One more minor detail, is the 5680 1.7" thick including the lcd display or is that just the thickness of the "base"?

I intend to use this for doin some 3ds max maya, cad and games, and since i am not made of money, i figure i will go with a 2.6 now and upgrade to a prescott when it comes out.

I do not think the standard extended warranty includes any user damage such as you describe. You should email or private this question directly to a representative of the company from which you plan to by your 5680.

The primary CD bay requires a screw to be removed to change it. I don't know if it is hot swappable.

I removed my floppy drive from the secondary bay and replaced it with the second battery while running and had no problem, however going back to floppy, my floppy was not recognized until I rebooted.

I believe the thickness includes the full thickness with the notebook closed, which would include the screen.

I know! the prices like droped alot so now i actually have enough to buy! but alas. i will have patient until the 4780 comes out.... lol it was alot easyier to wait when i didnt have the moeny but now that i do i'm going crazy!
