Tell me what benches you want me to run in my review thread, as long as they're free. I'll run them as soon as I can...

I have only HL, so I'll give you CS:Source stress test results:

1680x1050, all settings high, reflect all, 4x/2x AA/AF: 34.57 FPS
1680x1050, all settings high, reflect all, no/trilinear AA/AF: 62.70 FPS
1680x1050, all settings high, reflect world, no/trilinear AA/AF: 68.19 FPS
1280x768, all settings high, reflect all, 4x/2x AA/AF: 46.34 FPS
1280x768, all settings high, reflect all, no/trilinear AA/AF: 84.41 FPS
1280x768, all settings high, low reflections, no/trilinear AA/AF: 104.91 FPS

It runs very well for me... although I prefer it on 1280x768 with worl reflections and no AA, trilinear AF so I can get good framerates. Otherwise, if it is just prettiness that you want... I'll go grab a screenie of 1680x1050, all high, max reflections, max AA/4x AF and let you be the judge of what is better...

Yeah, I don't understand why he's getting such high framerates in HL2 at the higher resolutions. From this review of the Mobility X700, using an 8104 test system, HL2 seems to suffer a bit more (~30 fps) at resolutions of 1280x1024 and higher with no AA/AF: http://www.beyond3d.com/previews/ati/m26/index.php?p=09

Then again, maybe his Ferrari 4005 runs a higher clocked version of the X700 chip, or maybe he overclocked it himself.

Ferrari 4005 GPU ATI Mobility X700 is higher clocked than the Travelmate 8104 by Factory Default.

BUMP

So, back to the original topic questioin...with a lot of talk about benchmarks and drivers both here and in other threads can anyone post images of BF2, HL2, DOOM3 in all its 'stable' glory running on a Ferrari 4000? by stable I mean - able to play it for hours without a crash.

Please include your driver version and any benchmarks for comparison. Thanks

not to be rude but i had a older acer and it was crap ad i mean crap. I had the 3200 Ferrari and the shi* always crashed due to how hot it was. I sent it back in under 2 days a record for me. Anyways by the looks at it i would not be surprised if it would overheat and crashed. Acer is known for noisy loud hot notebooks. Tomshardware even reviewd cooling pads and the acer ferrari 3200 was its test computer...I wonder why???
I have a F3400 and works just fine, all notebooks have a crash once. Acer have today the BEST performance for BEST price in 15" notebooks. Period

Noisy...I put the music more louder

I finally load up BF2 and had no problems with the default factory drivers. It runs a dream. I then loaded up the demo of Dungeon Siege II and it must have stuffed up an ATI driver because now when I boot up the Ferrari I get a checkdisk error on 2 files.

I am going to reformat a load back to factory default and start stripping out the old drivers and loading up Omega ones.

Could somebody please post some actual screenshots of BF2 or Doom3 or HL2? This thread has 17 posts but not one of them is a screenshot...lol People are missing the point of the thread I guess. Thanks in advance
