Great video driver for 7700

I know everyone has their own preferences but I thought I'd share this with you.I have just installed the 77.62 (type2) drivers from Extreme G and they rock !

I am playing BF2 on high settings with my DDR2 Go6800 and it is silky smooth

I highly recommend these drivers ....

BTW make sure you uninstall the old ones properly

- Remove drivers via add remove programs
- Reboot into safe mode
- Cancel the found new hardware wizard
- Using Driver cleaner 3, clean the nvidia driver from your system
- Using Driver cleaner 3, clean the cab (select your SP level) files
- Install the new drivers
- Reboot

Please note that the extreme G site had a host problem a few days ago and although it is back up it is very slow. If anyone really wants these drivers I can upload them somewhere for people to try out ... let me know

Why are u so interesting about bench results ?

Since u have a powerfull laptop, why not using graphic capabilities instead of killing image quality for the hunt to the 3dmark score and fps ??

If u want, i can mod you the forceware and u'll score in 3Dmark as u've never seen before, but the quality image is like geforce 2...

I tried installing the 77.62 forceware drivers from the nVidia site but for some reason it said it was uncompatiable with my current hardware :S

beware, the beta 80.##';s forceware has a shader bug at least my leaked 80.40 did

just tried the 77.62 and my 3d score gained about 220 points in 3d 01 wich isnt much. but its a start

They seem to be causing BF2 to crash for me. I'm currently reinstalling in order to be certain but it was working five minutes before I installed these latest ones.

Yeah, j.clausse's 80.40 drivers are causing BF2 to crash. I've reinstalled both the game and the drivers and right after starting it exits out with an error message:
AppName: bf2.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: renddx9.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00056071

I'm currently playing swat 4 without probs using drivers.

I didn't bought bf2, i don't really like it, but the 80s driver are still beta and may be instable with some games.

Try the 77.70 version from Guru. It has been more stable for me than the 80.xx versions. It doesn't have clausse's tweaks, but you can add them in the .inf file or use RivaTuner as an option. Just a thought.

Hey, i've been playing with the alienware drivers and found they are decent enough to play BF2 at highsettings, but find that shadows are extremely inaccurate. In fact the shadow becomes this huge box that just follows the object it's suppose to shadow. Who is Guru and who does all the Extreme 3 tweaks? How many more tweaks are there?

i just unmarked the shadows in the game and then it disapperas. I still have aw's drivers and battlefield works great. No problems here. Con!

the 77.62 from team g added about 300 points to my benchmark score and runs all teh games i play with now glitches. i dont play bf2 however.
