DVD Video Issue

Thread Starter
When watching a dvd video fullscreen/windowed in PowerDVD or WinDVD I get this colored ~1 pixel line on the right side/edge and it plays throughout the whole movie.

I tried to take a pic of it, but it always comes up with a black screen upon pasting it.

Please help, this is driving me nuts.

I had a similar problem. Here's how i fixed it....

1) Power down PC

2) Remove battery and disconnect everything from the laptop, including power module, headphones, USB stuff, PCMCIA card, etc.

3) Hold down the power button (the one above the keyboard & under the Dell logo...) for 10 seconds.

4) Reconnect all and boot up.

Hope it works for you.

Sorry, better call Tech Support.....

BTW, have you tried many different DVD's? What about just media files? Also, you may want to update your video driver.

Yes I did try many dvds, however now there is no need to call tech support

This is what I did to get everything working:

1) Went to http://www.drivercleaner.net/ and dl'ed driver cleaner
2) Ran prog and removed all ATI drivers, reg entries, infs, etc
3) Rebooted and reinstalled ATI drivers
3) Rebooted once more and ran test dvd
4) Smile and just be happy...

Hope that helps anyone with the same issue.

What does holding the power down for 10 secs do anyway?
