well, seriously think about it...

video support is going to be a question of downloading nvidia's binary installer, installing it, loading a kernel module, and switching some X configs.

sound support is going to be setting the kernel the right way, then grabbing the software straight from the alsa-project website

cedega is just a binary that doesn't even need compiling.

I don't see what's different on gentoo than redhat for those particular things.

Well, I just got VPN working, so I no longer need windows for anything. I'm pretty satisfied with the laptop now and will probably keep it where it is for a while. I'm hoping to get a Verizon broadband card for their wireless 2mbps internet service, and it should work well with linux.

For any of you having troubles, let me know and i'll try to help you out...
