7620 DVD playback problem

whenever i play a DVD back (regardless of whether it is burned or a retail movie), i get a line of purple-ish static on the right side. it's thin, but visible and annoying. this happens regardless of what i use to play the DVD, like nero or WMP. also, i do know that it is something with my machine, as i can play the same DVD's back on another machine, and i don't have the problem. thanks

well, in doing some testing, i've determined that it is very likely the DVD drive itself. i can play DVD's that have been copied onto my hard drive from the Video_TS files without a problem, so i don't think that the problem is in any way software related. i'm planning on calling sager to request a replacement drive if no one has any other suggestions.thanks
