Busted headphone jack? NOOOOO!!! - Page 2

heh my roommate went through about 5 audio jacks on his dell...

they replaced it every time but it was a big headache for him because he couldnt listen to music and they had to "diagnose" his problem every time when he went through support

it sucked for him because he listened to music all the time... but it was nice for me ^_^

so i guess you should run the gammut of customer support

I would definitely get it looked at by the reseller. Did you get to talk to them on the phone?

The jack on my new laptop (IBP Battalion 101ML) is in the front, which is ok on a desk but if it where on my bed or lap would be basically useless.

I wish the companies would realise placing the headphone/ext speaker jack towards the bottom edge of the laptop is a bad idea.

Bingo.

Update: I sent my laptop into Sager to fix the jack. I'll drive down and pick it up next week. But I have to go a week without my baby! Nooooo! However will I survive? I type this from the desktop in the den with a heavy, heavy heart.
