RSI - Repetitive strain from notebook (Crain from notebook (CL56) keyboard.

After switching from a desktop (12 years) to a CL56 notebook last year I have developed painful tendon strain in my hands.

I attribute this to the cramped and "stiff" keyboard of notebookes and specifically the CL56.

Does anyone have a similair problem? Would moving to a 17" with a wider keyboard and a light touch help? Any other solutions?

TIA

Or just get a desktop keyboard?

are you sure it's caused by typing on the notebook and not something else?

Yeah computer use is basically 15+ hours a day I been using a normal desktop keyboard for 10 years and since I switched to using a notebook all day a few months later my hands are becoming painfull to work with.

I'm thinking of this notebook stand:

With using a regular keyboard.

Also I find my typing errors have increased dramatically with using this CL56 keyboard. You really have to press the keys fully in. I dont like it at all.

I know there are proper way to type on keyboards in general. Do you use the proper posture when using the notebook, not resting your wrists etc?

I personally noticed a bit of strain but not much when I use to use my laptop a lot. I think the reason is because my wrist rested on the edge of the laptop.

SS21CA, you really should pay closer attention to the dates of the posts to which you respond. Your reply here, btw, was posted almost seven hours after your PM to me. You will catch flak for doing this.
