Yeah, nice find U.N. - I bought one when you posted the very first "find" link, before your review came out. - To tell you the truth, I don't game; and I kind of bought it for the heat thing, (thinking the 6800 ultra was gonna make it a lot hotter than my last Lappy.) But now I realize I could do without it really. - So that says a lot about the XPS.!!!

Don't get me wrong, I know that 90% of you guys game; and I bet it makes a big difference.

I'm still happy; as the lights are brilliant, they get more comments than the XPS sometimes. Also it raises the Lappy to a much more comfortable level. Finally, I can't even hear the cooler when it's on the first setting.

For under $20 the above quote sums it up....and who knows, I may even get into gaming some day.

Thanks Inspector for the headsup on this...My Xps should be here tomorrow or today sometime. I found the cooler here for 12 bucks...

Seems like a good deal to me. Anyone ever bought there before and know if it has cred?

Actually why is it on ebay for .99?

That's interesting. I didn't think that the split second it takes to alt-tab could reduce temp by 9 degrees.

I think the NVidia temperature monitor refreshes every few seconds though...more than the time it takes to alt-tab.

It was 105 F outside every day for a week here in Sacramento. Luckily, it's a dry heat.

Thanks for suggesting this. When I got my XPS2 3 months ago, I needed something to keep it cool. Based on this thread I seached high and low until I finally found one in Vancouver. Very tough to find out here and Newegg doesn't ship up here.

I've been really happy with it. Keeps temps down nicely.

Anyboy tried this on the 9300? I'm looking into buying some kind of cooler. How would this rate with the Chill pads by Targus?

The XPS & 9300 have the same form factor...
There should be absolutely no difference in the way it works for either...I think it would work great for the 9300.

Never tried the Chill pad....

IT doesn't cool down the ram though does it? I'd like to get something to cool down my ram, it get's so hot down there and I think it contributes largely to the heat the laptop has as a whole.

If your looking to cool a specific location, such as the memory.
You may want to ponder building your own laptop cooler.

It has two fan settings....
The Pacific Breeze Cooler is noticebly loud when set on the "high" setting.
The low setting iss hardly noticable....

I've had my cooler a little over 8 months now. Still the best investment.
