Have heard good things about seagate reliability wise and not so good about Maxtor and WD. I think the main problem with maxtor though was their original one touch external drives. They now have the one touch II drives in 250GB and 300GB flavours. These new drives are 7200RPM 16MB cache so they're nice and quick too. I bought one after reading a couple of reviews which mentioned they were a big step up on the original one-touches. They come with FW400 and USB 2.0 support and include cables. The only problem I have had with mine is the stupid backup software that comes with it but I usually just use ghost anyway when backing up now so its not a huge problem. I would definitely recommend one of these though.
