I played CS:S from my garage yesterday. My garage is set back further from my road than my house. My router sits in a half-underground floor and the further corner possible in the house from th garage (no lie lol). I played with a 49 ping :P

You're talking about 60-80 feet (we have a large lawn), and the router is half underground and has about 8 walls to go through (let alone going "up" out from underground)

Very good was my signal rating. I'm using the only Linksys router Dell offers to buy WITH the xps2.

I'm using 2915a/b/g internal networking - using G

Haha... welcome to the family!

I primarily play on wireless. No problems with connection speeds at all.

Works great! I'm downstairs playing BF2 and CoH while the Linksys router sits upstairs. I have the Intel 2200 btw. No problems at all.

I just finished playing BF2 for awhile, and I'm running with an Intel 2915 a/b/g wireless card and a Netgear WGU624 router. I use the 5Ghz "a" band. It's hard to tell if it's the server or my network that's making BF2 a bit laggy, but since I always play on full 64 player servers, it's probably BF2. My speed drops sometimes, and I'm trying to resolve the issue. It doesn't seem to impact actual internet speed, since the slowest it has dropped to is 6mbps, which is more than my 5mbps internet connection.

Currently, I believe that the problem is caused by the wireless card in my laptop, which is less powerful than my router. While the computer can pick up the router fine, it may be that my wireless card can't transmit a powerful enough signal sometimes.
