Well your not going to find any LCDs for $200.00 ... The only CRT I've had around thant cost was my Samsung Syncmaster 955DF and its working great ...

I have a bunch of monitors i'm trying to get rid off. They kind of old (manufacture date around 99' if i remember correctly) and appear to have a mex res of 1024x768. They're 17 inch 15inch viewable. Depending where in NJ u live i'll sell u one for $20. They make for a good spare.

Yeah look around, check thrift stores, etc. I got a 17" monitor recently for $40 locally (so no shipping).

eBay is okay for monitors, but when having a monitor shipped make extra careful it is packed well, or it will break in shipping. CRTs can fail easily especially if the neck board isn't secured internally (and this isn't something that can be fixed for shipping either).

ViewSonic 19" UltraBrite CRT Monitor with PerfectFlat Screen (A90f+)

I got one at my work and it's very nice. Not sure how much it will cost though.

EDIT:sorry the link i gave doesnt take you to the monitor it is the 17inch crt monitors and then it wil take you to multysync the very last one MultiSync FE791SB is the one it has uxga resolution which is nice but then again crts are not as vibrant as lcds soo.. thats something for me to think about but this screen seems to be good.

Let's just say that ghosting is rarely a problem for desktop LCDs, so far as I've seen. I purchased a $350 17" LCD made by Princeton, model number VL1715. It has no ghosting, the colors and the brightness will burn your eyes out, and the vibrancy of the image is amazing. My only little gripe: on high contrast lines, there seems to be a small "ghost" image, not as in pixel refresh rate ghost, but I mean like old monitor cable ghost. It's not noticiable in games or color photographs, be is somewhat visible with text.

good if ghosting isnt a problem then i guess an lcd will do unless it depends on the quality the manufacturer makes the lcd.

19 inch, .20 pitch, 1600x1200 flat screen crt

Probably going to pick it up here in the next month or so but it looks nice in the store!
