My 4 year old HP Desktop I just ran it on show a health and performance status of 83%

Mine says 100% for both. It probably calculates it based on something like the size and temperature... its instantaneous, so its not like its doing any kind of thorough scanning.

Don't use it. It shows the wrong information for performance and health. It seems to go down 3% everyday for me! (on the health bit)

For my 5 month old aspire hitachi hdd it shows 54%
2 year old WDC HDD it shows 45%

As some of you have got well above 90% . the program can be considered reliable

I feel a bit let down by my hard disk.
The program said my 4 month old laptop's hard disk was:

50% on health.

And: 100% on performance.

Why is the health only 50% ???

Re

Me too!

I just bought my TM8104WLMi in May and it reported my health as 42% and performance 100% with a hdd temp of 41 deg C

Am 'I' that sick?

Re

Half an hour has passed and my drive now reads 49 deg C

I'm just surfing the net in an air con room. Is it normal?

Re

Ooooops.....sorry!

Just realized that there's a AV program doing background scanning. Temp has dropped to 46 deg C after scanning.

Scare the hell out of me
