I'm thinking of buying a 1690WLCi from NewEgg. At NewEgg, their specs indicate this notebook comes with 512mb DDR PC333 (2x256). At the Acer website (Acer America, USA), specs indicate the notebook is supposed to have 512mb DDR2 PC533 (2x256). I've also noticed the same thing at several other websites. Most list the installed memory as PC333. Tiger Direct is the only place that lists the memory in agreement with the Acer site, but I'd rather not buy from Tiger Direct (too many rediculous hoops to jump through for the rebate, not to mention that I just plain like NewEgg...
).
I was going to call Acer, but there's nobody there until Tuesday (Holiday). In the meantime, does anybody have any idea what might be up with that? Are these places sold different configurations of the same laptop? Is this a typo at NewEgg and the several other places that list this as having PC333 installed? Is this a typo at Acer?
Thanks, -kd5-
