Acer ferrari 3200 and IPod

I have a slight problem with these two. My IPod shuffle won't connect to my acer ferrari 3200 for some reason which I can't figure out. IPod works perfectly well with my desktop so the problem is between these two.

The plug of the IPod shuffle is first of all quite hard to get to the usb-plug, so you need to push is real hard. After you get it in, nothing happends, so it might be that the problem is there. Anyone else having similar problems?

I dont have either device, but you might try connecting another usb device to that port. I have found it very common in the laptops that I maintain for work to have a USB port that dosnt work right on it. Oddly enough it is usually the same exact one on all of the versions of the same laptop. I have an assumption that on laptops only some of the USB ports are powered and others are unpowered. You cannot connect a usb device that requires the Power to an unpowered port.

Hope this helps.

Damn, I must be getting real stupid. That worked right-a-way. It seems the first and third port are powered, while the two middle ones are not. Thanks.
