I have 33 processes. If dell says you should have 15-25 that's fine, but the average dell buyer (as in home user not gamer) will have bought 256mb ram instead of more, so dell's advice is sensible in that regard. Me, with 1gb ram, I can get away with far more than 33.

on my laptop even with bluetooth, WIFI, DU meter, RM clock, NOD32, Asus probe, HW eject, etc, etc i only have 38 processing running using ~150MB of ram this is including task manager. on my HTPC its only 21 processing using 80MB, my desktop has WAY more things on it cuz it has apps for dual monitors, bluetooth etc and that only has 26 processing using 112MB, anything over 40 is WAY out of line. try removing the garbage install of windows with free aol trial and reimage the pc yourself.
